Iditarod Trail Invitational 2009
Another successful race just finished up on the Iditarod Trail, Alaska.
Out of 45 racers 28 finished the 350 mile race to McGrath and out of 18 signed up in the 1100 mile race 6 finished in Nome on the Bering Coast.
Kathi Hirzinger-Merchant became the first female cyclist to finish the 1100 mile race in 25 days 12 hours and 58 minutes.
Entries are open for 2009 with a 50 racer limit

The fourth day of the Oman Adventure 2007 gave contestants a completely new problem to deal with: that of distance. “This is a real double marathon day” explained Gérard Fusil. “No-one has ever had to run a distance like this here before”. Even when divided into two sections, the total distance of over seventy-two kilometres presented a real challenge all by itself. Another one to add to the Oman Adventure list, now in its third year.
