Training

Other than winter skills training, the race require little in the way of specialist training. It is important to build a strong endurance fitness base as you would for any race, combined with strength training to absorb the stresses caused through sled pulling. During training it is excellent preparation to put in some major treks (50+ miles carrying or dragging weight (eg a tire) to build up your endurance base.
