Unique Features

Weather

The race takes place in the wintery frozen depths of the Yukon, and you will be faced with temperatures as low as –40. Couple this with the unpredictability of the weather, which can result in sudden snowstorms which reduce visibility to nil.

Terrain

Variable including frozen rivers, mountain passes and hills

Medical

Hypothermia and frostbite are real possibilities in addition to the problems of dehydration and sleep deprivation often encountered with a non-stop race

Survival Skills

Thorough knowledge of Arctic Survival skills including navigation, wildlife hazard,
Health and hygiene (hazards of sweating),first aid.
