Yukon Arctic Ultra 2008

The next Yukon Arctic Ultra is scheduled for February 2008. It is an annual race, the ultimate human powered adventure race, and will take place in the Yukon Territory of Canada. Competitors will have a choice of disciplines and distances. Part of the race will be held on the trail of the Yukon Quest Sled Dog Race that begins the day before the Yukon Arctic Ultra.

The race will start on February 9th 2008. Details of cost for the marathon, 100 mile and 300 mile and 430 mile distances can be found on our booking page.(The next edition of the 430 distance will be in 2009 as this distance is held every two years.) In light of the huge success of the fifth race - itis likely to prove popular, so early registration is advised.

How Tough is it?
Extremely. Competitors have to deal with extreme temperatures, arctic wilderness, sleep deprivation, carrying or pulling their own equipment and the distances involved. You should be conversant with survival techniques and have the ability to cope with decision making when faced with exhaustion, hunger and cold.
