Tip Top Tips
Training
Fitness is of course very important, but it is quite hard to know how to train for a race in which you may well walk over 100 kilometres
desert, sleep deprivation, practise it
Tip Top Tips
- all the advice that applies to the Marathon des Sables and other desert races applies to the Trans 333 too extra large shoes, gaiters to keep the sand and dust out etc
- carry a small rucksack, just big enough for your water carrier, headtorch and a few bars. Some people get away with just a belt kit
- use coloured bags for the drop-bags that will be easier to recognise. There may be as many as 70 drop-bags in a check-point (one for each competitor) when you arrive it can be quiet cold at night in the desert, take a medium thickness fleece allow yourself some treats along the way, things that you know you will like to eat when you are feeling down sort yourself out (blisters, fill up water bottles etc) before you take any sleep when you arrive a checkpoint
