Finishing Well
Develop a good endurance base for this race. The stages are 35km, 40km, 65km and 25km so every stage will be tough considering that underfoot is desert.
It is essential to keep hydrated throughout the stages and after each stage- ensure you replace your electrolytes and salt. Despite the fact that the race is fully supported, we recommend you run with a camel bak or waist pack with water bottles.
Feet are likely to suffer. Ensure you have a good supply of compeed or other blister treatment if required. Consider wearing gaiters to prevent sand entering your shoes.
Bring plenty of sunscreen. Shade is hard to find in the desert, and it is also advisable to cover your head.
