Tip Top Tips
Apart from good basic fitness, plenty of hill work is recommended. The organizers suggest a training programme of three 10km runs weekly and one 3-4 hour run every fortnight for two months prior to the race. They also recommend training with the backpack you will use to carry your essentials. Climb and go down the stairs two at a time.
Tip Top Tips
* Take leggings, a long sleeved top and cycle gloves for any areas of dense foliage.
* Take plenty of mosquito repellent
* Take spare shoes/socks in your pack on the stage that crosses the river to minimize wet feet and blistering.
* Take snacks (energy bars, drink mix powder, energy gels) for during the day that will be palatable and digestible in the heat. Also make sure they will survive the heat (ie not too much chocolate)
