Oman Adventure Day 2

Posted by: Megan on Dec 13, 07 | 2:44 am | Profile

Media Release

Today’s stage of the Oman Adventure 2007 brought the first real demarcation between the teams. This evening, at the high-altitude bivouac at Jabal Shams, nine of the teams are still competing in the “extreme” category, while the two others have chosen to revert to “adventure”, stopping at CP6 today, as allowed for by the rules. This came as no surprise to observers, as more than one team had been showing signs of tiredness, even exhaustion, in yesterday’s ascent of Jabal al Jadi: a leg which was practically a gentle stroll compared to today’s incredibly hard climb to the mountain village of Yasib.
