Salomon XA Pro Trail Shoe

The latest offering from Salomon in their race dominating Raid type trail shoes is another absolute winner. They seem to have gone on from the brilliant shoe that was the Raid Runner, ironed out the faults and produced the XA Pro. The first thing you notice about the XA Pro when you pick it up is how bloody light it is. It feels more like a road shoe. Once again Salomon have stuck with the winning Pro Chassis consisting of the excellent Contragrip Outsole, dual density EVA Mid-Sole. However the Thermoplastic footplates in this shoe have a lot more give a flex than it’s predecessors making it feel like a running shoe…making it feel fast! They’ve sorted out the lacing system which now seems bombproof and gives even tightening on a single pull. The mesh uppers, as well as looking pretty cool, breath wonderfully, carry little water and dry in a matter of minutes. I’ve just worn a pair for the Three Peaks Challenge, no blisters and not a foot-strike out of place on rock or scree. Go on do yourself a favour buy this shoe
