The Salomon Raid Race 300 is by far the most recognisable 'Adventure Racing' pack on the market. Vivid colours and some canny product placements with the former 'most winningest' adventure racing team on the planet, Team Eco-Internet, meant that every wannabe racer seemed to get themselves a Salomon Raid Race 300.

Salomon have recently released a new model of the Raid Race. It's undeniably a great pack for AR and weighs in at an exceptionally lightweight 635g for a pack with a capacity of 31 litres. The pack has masses of mesh storage space (although less than the older bright yellow model), a compartment for a hydration bladder, compression bungees, good sized pockets on the lid and an 'airwing' waistbelt.

The load is held fairly far away from your back so you should experiment before you select this pack for purely ultra running events as the pack does not feel as stable while running as some others on the market. The EVA shoulder straps on first inspection appear a bit thin but are surprisingly comfortable even when carrying reasonable loads.

Available in any colour you like as long as it is grey (new model). Previous models have been in yellow/black and steel/black.
