Grand Union Canal Run
At 0600hrs this coming Saturday, 70 competitors will line up at the start of Britains longest non-stop ultrarun- The Grand Union Canal Race. Some of them will still be running at 0300hrs on Monday morning......
The Grand Union Canal Race is an 145 mile non-stop race from Birmingham to London, taking competitors along the tow-path which runs alongside the canal.
A cut-off time of 45 hours is imposed for those who managed to get as far as the finish in Little Venice by the early hours of Monday morning.

Just to add to the challenge, a competitor who rests for longer than 40 minutes is deemed to have withdrawn from the race, so runners must keep an even pace throughout.
