The Grand raid Sahara is a 200km supported stage race run in 5 stages offering a harmonious mixture of culture, sport and humane challenge .The race takes place in the country of Mauritania.



GRAND RAID SAHARA 2008
The fourth edition of the Grand Raid Sahara will be held from Feb 24th to March 2nd 4th 2008. The entry fee is 2290 euros including flights out of Paris or Marseilles, visas, insurance, all meals , transfers and race support.

HOW TOUGH IS IT?
Any race which covers a distance of 222 km over five stages is going to be
tough, however a lot depends on how you approach it. The race attracts a mixed field of runners both elite and those who are there to cross the finish line. Desert terrain underfoot is taxing for any runner or walker. Time limits have been calculated to accommodate a runner or walker with a reasonable level of fitness.
Expect hot days and cooler temperatures at night.
